Spider-Man: No Way Home star Tom Holland has said that Marvel Studios’ upcoming blockbuster will “break” the relationship between Spider-Man and Doctor Strange.
During an interview with Total Film, Holland talked about the dynamics between Peter Parker and Stephen Strange and how it developed – and how it developed – during the events of No Way Home.
“It’s a very different relationship [between Tony Stark and Peter Parker],” he said. “I would not consider Doctor Strange a mentor in this film – he is more of a colleague. At this point in the films, Spider-Man has established himself as a rather powerful and serious Avenger. Doctor Strange sees him in him and” treats “him as equal And throughout the film, their relationship breaks down. Instead of becoming colleagues, they do not become enemies, but they are certainly not friends.
Holland added that Spider-Man “always wants to please everyone. He always wants everyone to be happy. And in this case, it is not. It is inter exciting. It is very different from Tony and Peter. But it’s funny. And, of course, Benedict. [Cumberbatch] I love him to the last.
He’s a great guy. I’ve worked with him many times and have always liked him a lot. It’s been an absolute pleasure and fun to work with Spider-Man. And Doctor Strange is a good mix. Great on-screen. The balance between them is very nice. ”
Despite Holland’s positive vibes, he recently said that No Way Home’s tone is not exactly light. “What will really surprise people is that this movie is not funny,” the actor said. “It’s dark and sad, and it’s going to be really moving. You’ll get to see characters you love going through, things you never want to go through. And I was really excited to lean into Peter Parker’s part.”
Regarding the upcoming sequel to the Master of the Mystic Arts in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Doctor Strange, led by Sam Raimi in the Multiverse of Madness, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige recently spoke about the No Way connection.
The house of madness and multiverse. “It’s completely surreal to work with Sam Raimi on a Doctor Strange movie in one part of the office and then on a Spider-Man movie with Jon Watts and Alfred Molina as Doc Ock in another room,” Feige says. “It’s been an overwhelming part of the last 10 years of my life.”
